Chicken Koyla Karahi

Chicken koyla karahi or coal karahi is very famous dish of desi food lovers in pakistan and indian sub continents, its unique touch of coal (koyla) experience the delicious taste. In pakistani food streets this dish is in demand you can surprise your guest serving them this type of dish in lunch or dinner. In this recipe you can watch, read and learn how to make it at home easily without having much cooking knowledge.

Chicken Koyla Karahi Ingredients:

Half kg chicken

1 medium size onion sliced

3 medium size tomatoes sliced

1 tablespoon ginger, garlic paste

1 teaspoon red chili powder

1/2teaspoon termeric

Half teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper powder

1/2 teaspoon Fenugreek seed (methi Dana)

1 tablespoon ginger Julian cut

Fresh green coriander leafs

Half teaspoon coriander powder

3 green chilies chopped

Oil half cup

1 tablespoon of kasuri methi

Method:

Add 3 tablespoon of oil in pan and add tomatoes.

cook till it gets soft and cover it for 2 minutes.

After that mashed tomatoes like puree, in other pan add remaining oil.

Add fenugreek seed saute in oil fry now.

Add onion fry till light brown, add ginger, garlic paste and chicken.

Here cook it for 2 minutes more.

Now add red chilli powder, termeric, salt, cummin powder, coriander powder, Black pepper powder.

Now add in pan tomatoes puree and kasuri methi and cover it for 8 to 9 minutes.

And smoke with koyla for 2 minutes (as shown in Video)

After that garnish with chopped green chilies, coriander and ginger.

Chicken Koyla Karahi is ready.

Note: Please watch video for how to smoke with koyla in pan.

Tip: Once it is ready to be smoked you can smoke it in an open air area to avoid smoky smell inside home.
